Freshman Welcome – Library Guide

Dear students!
The University of Ioannina Library congratulates you on your success and wishes you Happy and Fruitful Studies!

The Library of our University consists of the Central Library and its Branches in Arta, Preveza and Ioannina (lib.uoi.gr). In the Library you will find books, scientific journals, printed and electronic,
for your studies in all subjects of the Academic Departments of the University.

How to become a member of the Library

Upon completion of your registration in your Department you automatically become a member of the Library.
In order to use Library services, Book Borrowing, Interlibrary Loan, etc. you must obtain a Library Membership Card.
When you obtain an Academic Card, you will have to digitize or photograph it from both sides and send it by email to one of the following Libraries, depending on the Department to which you belong.

When the above procedure is completed, your Academic ID will be used as a Library Card and will be presented to the Service Department every time you request to borrow a book.

We recommend that after activating your Academic ID you activate the personal management of your WEBOPAC account of the Library. By activating the account you can, among other things, see the books you have borrowed, when you need to return them, renew the books, reserve a borrowed book, etc. To activate online access to your card go here:
https://opac.seab.gr/search~S12

Then select:

  • Sign in to my account (top right)
  • Enter in the barcode position the number of your Academic ID (12-digit number on the back) and in the pin position the code that you create yourself.

He preferred to consist of at least 7 characters, combining letters (Latin characters) and numbers.
